Leicester entrepreneur moves back to his roots

Ex-professional rugby player and commercial sports expert, Jim Overend is moving back to his roots in Yorkshire after around 25 years of living in Leicester. Jim is the managing director of The Gameplan, helping teams and individuals get motivated through a five-step fitness plan.

"After moving to Leicester as a 21-year-old rugby player I’ve finally moving back to Yorkshire after 25 years.

"Highlights are too numerous to mention with so many great times and friendships made. Leicester has been my home and a wonderful place to live, but since setting up on my own and no longer being location-dependent, the chance to move closer to family was too great an opportunity to miss.

"I have had the pleasure to work at Leicester Tigers, Loughborough University, Leicestershire CCC and Leicester City Football Club. I completed a degree at DMU, during which I was lucky enough to play with some of the best rugby players, witness great leaders and work with incredible teams.

"Best of all, I came down on my own but I return with a family. Thank you to everyone who I have met along the way and all those who have made me feel so welcome. I will still be coming down to Leicestershire through business and to see friends.

"It’s been a blast. Looking forward to catching up with old contacts, and new."
