As a Recruitment Specialist within the Employment Services department you will help play a key role in equipping people who have a health condition or disability, the unemployed and other disadvantaged groups with the opportunities needed to find, enter and sustain meaningful work.

You will be an outgoing, sales-motivated individual who is driven to provide exceptional customer service and able to identify, build then maintain positive relationships with relevant local stakeholders – creating a stream of suitable job opportunities for programme participants.

Overview

Key areas of responsibility

  • Operates with a customer-focused approach, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Acts as the key contact for referral providers, ensuring queries on referrals or on any aspect of partnership working are resolved within 48 hours to adhere to Minimum Service Levels.   
  • Engages with Job Centre Plus  to ensure referral numbers match profile expectations for job starts.   
  • Interacts with community organisations, NHS, Universities and colleges to obtain referral numbers. 
  • Promotes and creates an awareness of our products and services including work experience/trial opportunities, self-employment, vocational and accredited training as well as vacancies.   
  • Books and participates in appointments with new customers, makes new customer calls 48 hours prior to start date on a weekly basis and supports advisers to diarise outstanding appointments.   
  • Assists delivery staff with interventions, including in-work support and checks.   
  • Tracks participant progress during and after programme end for management information purposes.   
  • Records all activity with businesses on the Chamber’s Customer Relationship Management system. 
  • Ensures that potential new members are referred to the Chamber’s Membership team for follow up.   
  • Assists with events, exhibitions and open days as and when required. 
  • Able and willing to travel across Nottinghamshire (and occasionally the High Peak) to meet stakeholders to ensure our services are accessible to all.

If you’re successful at this stage, you will be invited for an interview. If you’re unsuccessful, the Chamber’s HR team will let you know by email.

First, you’ll be invited to interview onsite at our Nottingham office within 10 days of the advert closure. If your interview goes well, you may be invited to attend a second interview or offered the role. Some interviews might require you to compile some research or to prepare a presentation. At the end of the interview, the interviewer will confirm the timeline for next steps.

Interviews usually last around an hour with a mix of competency based interview questions, and in some cases, we might ask you to carry out some practical exercises.

Decisions will be made at each stage of the process, as we score applicants against the role criteria. If you’re successful, we will contact you to make an offer. This will be followed up in writing and a contract will be sent to you once a start date is confirmed. You will receive information on your induction and what you will do on your first day. If you have any questions, please just get in touch.
