Business support project could help firms in Nottingham reach digital, AI or sustainability goals

Becoming greener, reducing energy bills and making the transition to AI platforms are among a range of support that the Nottingham Accelerator project can offer to firms across the city.

Having received £124, 982 from the government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the Nottingham Accelerator project is delivered by East Midlands Chamber on behalf of Nottingham City Council. Running until 31 March 2026, the project aims to help firms reach sustainability goals, grow and innovate with emphasis on digital and decarbonisation.

Firms get access to training and specialist consultants to help embrace the transition to AI platforms and advanced technologies, while sustainability support includes funded energy audits and help towards becoming a greener business, reducing energy bills and carbon emissions. Growth vouchers up to the value of £2,000 can be awarded to support the adoption of new technologies or to improve processes.

East Midlands Chamber Deputy Chief Executive Diane Beresford said: “I’m happy to say a significant number of Nottingham businesses are already engaged with the programme, including 40 delegates who attended the Chamber’s AI & Digital Marketing Conference at the East Midlands Conference Centre in June. We’re now working to further support those businesses and any others in Nottingham that would like to join the programme, with tailored advice, consultancy, training and grants.

“The Chamber and its partners can offer a diverse breadth of tailored Digital and Sustainability support through Nottingham Accelerator. Our engaging programme will connect businesses with expertise in areas such as automation and robotics, technology to improve productivity, and offer digital know-how when it comes to dealing with cyber security.

“Added to that, we can support businesses seeking to further their export ambitions through the Export Accelerator project and any rapidly growing businesses through the High Growth Accelerator project.”

Nottingham City Council Councillor Linda Woodings, Executive Member for Regional Development, Growth & Transport said: We are delighted that East Midlands Chamber will be delivering dedicated support to businesses in the city of Nottingham through this funding, which will provide valuable insight and tangible impact to businesses in our city to help them thrive.”
