East Midlands Chamber has joined Randal Foundation in welcoming Diwali, underlining its cultural significance to the region.
Chief Executive Scott Knowles said: “Celebrating cultural diversity is at the core of the East Midlands, known the world over. Diwali brings businesses, families and communities together and highlights the region as an excellent place to live, work and for businesses to thrive. I wish a happy, healthy and prosperous Diwali to all communities across the East Midlands.”

Randal Foundation Co-founder Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL said: “Diwali brings a powerful pause around the world, giving us time for reflection and a reminder of the importance of the connections we hold with those around us – no matter their background. It crosses cultural barriers and encourages us to involve everyone in our communities to celebrate.
“Through our family foundation this year we have brought light into communities we’ve been able to reach through powerful partnerships, in the UK and globally.
“My hope for Diwali 2025 is that the months ahead will bring respite, rebuilding and recovery wherever there are troubles and that the centrifugal effects of hope, kindness and compassion will resonate – not only across our hearts and homes, but through all our communities too, wherever they are in the world.”
Co-founded by Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL, chair of Chamber strategic partner RandalSun Capital, Randal Foundation formed a partnership with Milan-based NGO EMERGENCY in 2025, providing medical aid, supplies and clinical care to those in need in countries affected by war, unrest and extreme poverty.
