Problem-solving skills are skills that enable people to handle unexpected situations or difficult challenges at work.

**This workshop is open to established businesses located in Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Derby City, Erewash, High Peak, North East Derbyshire and South Derbyshire.**
Overview
Who should attend?
This workshop will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able to quickly identify and evaluate a range of options towards solving problems within their work place.

It's ideal for any manager or staff member who is required to think creatively to bring about improvements and overcome obstacles within their job role.

What's covered
You will explore methods to analyse both “soft” and “hard” problems, apply structured problem-solving approaches, and use visual techniques to uncover root causes. The workshop will also covers how to generate creative options, evaluate potential solutions, and plan for successful implementation.
Outcome
What outcome will be achieved
By the end of this workshop you will:
• Explore and understand a range of tools and techniques to analyse and identify both “soft” and “hard” problems.
• Know how to apply problem-solving techniques, including charting and visualising issues to pinpoint root causes.
• Be able to generate and assess multiple options to determine and justify the preferred solution.
• Be capable of developing a staged implementation plan with realistic goals and milestones to support change.
• Recognise potential barriers and suggest practical ways to overcome obstacles to change.

Eligibility:

This workshop is open to established businesses located in Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Derby City, Erewash, High Peak, North East Derbyshire and South Derbyshire.

Receipt of this support is subject to the Subsidy Control Act (2022). To qualify an enterprise cannot have received more than £315,000 Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) and or De Minimis within any three-year period.

 

The project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
