Who should attend?
This session is aimed at anyone responsible for SEO for a website or content writing/optimisation. No technical knowledge is required and the information is applicable to any type of website or business.

What's covered:
AI offers valuable tools to improve SEO efficiently, but improper use can harm rankings. The session covers essential AI tools for SEO and outlines best practices to avoid negative impacts. You’ll learn how to use AI productively and avoid the pitfalls, from generating content ideas to writing large amounts of text and implementing technical features in your website. Explore ways to use common AI tools and see examples of how they can make SEO tasks quicker and easier.

Outcome

After attending this workshop, you will understand the following:

• What is AI: What we mean by AI in the context of search engines and content creation, including Large Language Models and how these are used by search engines.

• The impact of AI search: From AI Overviews to AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT Search, see how these new forms of search impact websites & traffic.

• How AI search results work: Understand the differences between traditional search and AI search, including query fan-out and retrieval augmented generation.

• How search engines treat AI-generated content: Why it is not automatically “bad” and what signals search engines are looking for.

• Characteristics of copywriting that ranks for AI: How you can structure and word your content to work best with the way AI search engines process content.

• Using AI writing tools: How they differ, which features are valuable and whether they’re worth paying for.

• Prompt writing: The best ways to prompt AI tools to generate ideas and content that you can use on your website.

• Uses of AI for SEO: Beyond simply writing text for you, other ways AI tools can undertake SEO tasks and make life easier.

• Custom GPTs: Examples of custom GPTs (formerly plugins) that add functionality and data to enhance your SEO efforts.
