Held in partnership with Derbyshire County Council and delivered by the University of Derby, this session is designed to strengthen Derbyshire’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing by equipping local SMEs and micro-businesses with the knowledge, skills, and connections they need to thrive.

By focusing on practical, actionable content, participants will leave with tools and strategies they can immediately apply to grow and compete in this high-value sector.

Each session will run for three hours and combine expert insights, real-world case studies, and interactive exercises to deliver maximum impact. Together, these sessions will help businesses build resilience, improve competitiveness, and contribute to the long-term growth of the advanced manufacturing sector in Derbyshire.

Join apprenticeship expert Andy Dowling and Academic Manager for Professional Executive Education, Matt Bromley, for a workshop to discover:

Why apprenticeships are critical for workforce development in advanced manufacturing.

- Support services for employers (local and national schemes).
