The EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation came into force on the 11th February, with a hard implementation date of 12th August 2026. The regulation significantly expands on the previous Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD), consolidating much at the Commission level, and with significant impact on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scope.

• About reuse and refill targets for several types of packaging
• About bans and restrictions of certain materials, formats, and substances
• How the regulation alters existing EPR requirements and fees

The presentation should take approx. 40 minutes leaving questions for Q&A at the end.

The webinar will take a deep dive into PPWR’s compliance requirements, how it interacts with other EU and global regulation, and its phased implementation timeframe. It will also explore bans and restrictions of certain materials, formats, and substances; reuse and refill targets for several types of packaging; as well as the regulation’s impact on packaging labelling, EPR requirements and fees.

Eligibility

This webinar is open to established enterprises located in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Receipt of this support is subject to the Subsidy Control Act (2022). To qualify an enterprise cannot have received more than £315,000 Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) and or De Minimis within any three-year period.

The project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
