to create workbooks, build and explain formulas, clean and prepare data, analyse information, create dashboards, automate repetitive tasks and apply workbook-specific or company-specific preferences.
Overview
This course is designed for Excel users who already use workbooks for reporting, tracking, analysis or business decision-making and want to understand how Microsoft 365 Co-pilot can help them work faster and more effectively in Excel.
Outcome
By the end of the course, you will -
* understand where Co-pilot can be used in Excel, including the desktop app, browser app and Microsoft 365 Co-pilot Chat.
* write clearer prompts for workbook creation, analysis, editing and automation tasks.
* create new workbooks from prompts, emails, PDF files, meeting transcripts, existing workbooks, project proposals, scanned receipts, Teams chats, Teams channels and live web data.
* use Co-pilot to carry out everyday workbook tasks such as copying worksheets, listing hidden worksheets or columns, changing values across a workbook and applying filters.
* compare Chat, Plan and Edit approaches when asking Co-pilot to change workbook content.
* create, refine and question formulas generated by Co-pilot, including lookups, date formulas and dynamic array functions.
* use Co-pilot to explain formulas, trace source cells and support formula auditing.
* create and improve conditional formatting rules for cells, rows, dates and values referenced from other tables.
* clean, reshape and prepare workbook data so that it is easier to analyse.
* use Co-pilot to support pivot tables, pivot charts, forecasts, trends, dashboards and real-world business analysis.
* recognise where Co-pilot may produce an incorrect or incomplete result and how to challenge, refine or correct the output.
* explore newer Co-pilot in Excel capabilities including Rules, Personalisation, Skills, automation and workbook-specific instructions.
Additional Information

Attendees should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including tables, formulas, filtering, charts and basic analysis.

Experience with Microsoft 365 apps such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive or SharePoint will be helpful because many demonstrations use organisational content as a source for workbook creation and analysis.
