Planning Your Business: Boot Camp

Are you ready to turn your business idea into a practical plan?

This interactive face-to-face workshop is the first day of our two-day Start & Sustain Boot Camp and is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs build solid foundations for a successful business.

Overview

What’s covered?

We’ll revisit the key themes explored in Is Self-Employment for Me? before developing your own Business Model Canvas, giving you a clear picture of how your business will create value, attract customers and generate income.

The session will also introduce the financial planning tools every start-up needs. Through practical exercises, you'll create a Sales Forecast, Cashflow Forecast and Profit & Loss Forecast, helping you understand the financial viability of your business and make informed decisions before launch.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a clearer roadmap for moving from business idea to trading business, along with a set of practical actions to take forward.

Outcome

What outcomes will be achieved?

By attending this workshop, you will:
• Complete a Business Model Canvas
• Identify your customers, value proposition and routes to market
• Produce a Sales Forecast
• Build a Cashflow Forecast
• Create a Profit & Loss Forecast
• Understand the financial requirements of your business
• Identify the key actions needed before launch
• Develop a realistic pathway from idea to trading business

Refreshments are available throughout the day, unfortunately lunch will not be provided

Please do bring a laptop with you on the day

Who should attend?

This workshop is suitable for individuals looking to progress their business idea, pre-start and early-stage businesses.

To get the most from this workshop delegates will need to have a rough estimate of their startup costs, business running costs and own personal survival budget.

Eligibility

Open to anyone based in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire that is thinking of starting a business, wants to progress an idea or has a business less than two years.
