Friars Mill is a collection of 15 flexible work spaces, housed in four historic buildings, thoughtfully remodelled to spark collaboration and accelerate business growth.
Managed by East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire), Friars Mill is the flagship development in Leicester Riverside's regeneration.
A total of £6.3 million has been invested by Leicester City Council and the European Regional Development Fund to sympathetically restore and refurbish the Grade II listed buildings.
Where heritage inspires ambition
Built on the legacy of the Donisthorpe Factory, Leicester’s oldest surviving factory building, Friars Mill has fostered innovation since 1739. Technological progress is in our foundations.
Where design fosters collaboration
From Dominican friars to factory workers, Friars Mill has always been a place of common purpose. Our shared spaces and meeting places are crafted to create business connections.
Where nature fuels productivity
Harnessed to power the textile industry and transport merchandise, the River Soar has long propelled commerce in Leicester. Business momentum continues on the course of the river.
A beacon for regeneration
With its confident illumination, the Friars Mill chimney symbolises the successful evolution of industry in the city.
