Businesses have significant carbon emissions impact and a key role to reduce emissions to help meet the government’s Net Zero target by 2050. Carbon management becomes an important aspect of businesses of all size and type. However, many of the businesses need the required knowledge, skills, and competencies to implement carbon management. Nottingham Business School academics and sustainability experts have the research and practice-based expertise and knowledge to support businesses to be on a path to Net Zero.
The Carbon Management in Business Training programme consists of four practical and interactive 3-hour training sessions (total 12 hours support) with tailored one to one mentoring session, delivered over a five-week period. The programme aims to help businesses build in-house capacity and ‘know-how’ to measure and manage their carbon emissions as part of their Net Zero and sustainability journey. Key elements of the training programme include understanding wider context and business case for carbon management, measuring carbon footprint to set a baseline, setting carbon reduction targets, developing carbon management strategies and action plan using the SMART principles.
