As Importers, we are being encouraged to trade with countries which have preferential trading agreements with the EU or even developing countries.

As exporters we are often asked to supply EUR1 and ATR Movement Certificates with the consignment so that our customers can import the goods either duty free or at a reduced rate.

The course explores the current Rules of Origin, Preference Agreements, how to establish where goods originate "officially", and the internal factors to support originate declarations.

Workshop programme in detail:

What we mean by Rules of Origin
The Tariff
Commodity Codes
How to establish origin
Documentation - EUR1, ATR and GSP Certificates
Internal documentation and procedures required to support origination declaration
Responsibilities as an importer and exporter

Presentation by Laura Howard, Head of International Trade, East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire)

Course delivery:

This two hour workshop is delivered at the Chamber's offices in Chesterfield. Refreshments are provided on arrival and there is no requirement for delegates to bring any stationery or IT equipment.

The Trainer for this event is John Robinson, a long-standing member and Fellow of the Institute of Export. John has worked with the Chamber over a number of years to provide International Trade training courses of the very highest standard.
