Description
Join us for a morning of insight, reflection, and discussion as we bring together business leaders from across Derbyshire to explore the implications of the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget, delivered just days before this session.
Co-hosted by the University of Derby and East Midlands Chamber, this event serves a dual purpose: celebrating the region’s Top 200 businesses and providing a timely platform to share perspectives on the Budget and how national policy will shape our regional economy.
Overview
Each year, researchers from Derby International Business School compile the Top 200 listing, ranking all active, private sector businesses in Derbyshire by turnover - a simple but powerful indicator of business growth and regional economic strength. This research highlights key growth sectors and place-based clusters.
With the previous Budget placing significant expectations on the business community, and ahead of the 26 November statement, the message from business leaders remains clear - avoid introducing additional taxation that could hinder growth and job creation.
Join us as we explore the practical implications of any new announcements and capture immediate reactions from a diverse panel representing both Top 200 businesses and the SME community.
Outcome
Final agenda and speakers - to be confirmed.
