Through a range of keynote speakers, workshops and panel discussions the 2024 Summit will focus on the Chamber’s “A Manifesto for Growth 2024- Business policy priorities ahead of the next General Election”.
On the day we will focus on the key areas that will enable economic growth, through the targeting skills reform and interventions to support better business engagement with educators. We will also explore the shift in workplace expectations, post pandemic, to understand how to shape your business for the realities of today’s workforce.
This is set against a backdrop of data taken from our Quarterly Economic Survey that shows recruiting and retaining employees remains one of the major challenges for businesses, with roughly two-thirds of respondents consistently reporting difficulties in filling vacancies. This is compounded by a flatlining of investment in capital equipment and training, all elements that are stifling economic growth.
As the Chamber evolves policy asks for Government the Summit will focus on how we develop a skills base fit for 21st century industry.
