Description
Lithium and sodium batteries are among the most commonly transported and most frequently delayed or rejected dangerous goods consignments due to incorrect classification, marking or documentation.
This 4-hour programme meets IATA training requirements for personnel preparing lithium batteries under Section II provisions for air transport and covers ADR / IMDG Special Provision 188 for road and sea movements.
This course applies to low-level batteries including Lithium or Sodium Ion and Lithium Metal.

• UN 3480 / 3481 / 3090 / 3091
• UN 3551 / UN 3552 (Sodium ion batteries)
• Section II shipment criteria and limitations
• ADR / IMDG Special Provision 188 requirements
• Watt-hour and lithium content thresholds
• Marking and labelling requirements
• Documentation requirements (where a DGD is not required)
• When shipments become fully regulated (Section I / IA / IB)
• Common inspection findings and compliance risks
