On 2 May, an election will take place to appoint the first Mayor of the new East Midlands County Combined Authority, covering Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The new Mayoral position comes with enhanced funding and increased powers in areas including housing, planning, economic development and transport.

This is a business focussed session.

On the day we will be joined by Ben Bradley (Conservative), Claire Ward (Labour), Matthew Relf (Independent) and Frank Adlington – Stringer (Derbyshire Green Party) *

Delegates will be able to put their questions to the candidates to interrogate what their plans are for the role, should they be successful.

*Other candidates to be put forward as they are agreed.
