Overview
Agenda:

- Welcome and update from the Chair

- Decarbonising Industry and Commercial Properties

We will hear a case study from Penny Engineering Group, who have taken a proactive approach to decarbonising their business. With emissions from the industry sector falling by 4.7 MtCO2e in 2024 compared to the previous year (48% lower than 2008 levels), decarbonisation of industry/commercial properties is a key factor in hitting the governments net zero targets. We will hear about some of the great work undertaken, some of the challenges and discuss where additional support could make key gains for industry – Tim Penny, Managing Director, Penny Engineering Group.

- The role of Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) in retrofit.

Exploring the role of HVAC in reducing energy use and decarbonising commercial properties - Ashley Towndrow, Surveyor/Air Conditioning Energy Assessor, Smart Projects

- Eon Energy’s Net Zero Academy - Dawn Longdon, Training Manager, Eon

Overview of who they are, what they are known for and their future plans - from installation of energy meters (Gas and Electric), their training facility and much more.
They will detail the work on upskilling their own Electricity meter technicians to become fully qualified and registered electrical installation engineers fitting EV, SPV and Batteries. This also includes upskilling Gas meter technicians to become Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installation and commissioning engineers – they will also detail how they are branching out into the commercial world to expand the training beyond their own staff.

- Discussion on future topic areas to be included in future forums
