Held in partnership with Derbyshire County Council and delivered by the University of Derby, this session is designed to strengthen Derbyshire’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing by equipping local SMEs and micro-businesses with the knowledge, skills, and connections they need to thrive.

By focusing on practical, actionable content, participants will leave with tools and strategies they can immediately apply to grow and compete in this high-value sector.

Each session will run for three hours and combine expert insights, real-world case studies, and interactive exercises to deliver maximum impact. Together, these sessions will help businesses build resilience, improve competitiveness, and contribute to the long-term growth of the advanced manufacturing sector in Derbyshire.

Join Dr Pouria Liravi for a workshop to discuss:

- Overview of Derbyshire’s advanced manufacturing supply chain.
- Key procurement requirements of Tier 1 manufacturers (quality standards, compliance, certifications).
- Common mistakes SMEs make when bidding for contracts.
- Practical strategies for building relationships with large manufacturers.
- Case studies of local SMEs successfully entering supply chains.
- Tools and templates for supply chain readiness (self-assessment checklist).
- Guidance on where to find contract opportunities and support.

Outcome: Participants will leave with a clear understanding of procurement processes, readiness tools, and practical steps to access supply chain opportunities.
