BACKLIT is a cultural hub dedicated to heritage, placemaking, and contemporary artistic practice. Our community unites creative practitioners across disciplines through on-site studios, a BACKLIT curated public gallery programme, and a developing BACKLIT archive. Based in Alfred House, Nottingham, BACKLIT was founded in 2008, housed in a historic Victorian building established in 1872.
