D2 Business Starter Programme

The D2 Business Starter Programme has just one purpose; to seek out and assist owners of brilliant ideas across the county. The D2 Business Starter Programme is a dynamic project that has successfully supported over 190 businesses to start and thrive in Derby and Derbyshire.

It is funded by Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council and delivered by East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire), the leading business organisation in the region.  There are no costs to participants – the only eligibility criteria is that people wishing to access the support have a Derby/Derbyshire postcode and the desire to start a business.

With the changes happening across Derbyshire due to the economic impact of  the pandemic, we have designed a new innovative programme of support to ensure our budding business owners receive the support needed now to make a better future.

The programme offers:

Initial Discovery Call

Whatever stage you are at, an Adviser will gain an initial understanding of your business idea, the planning undertaken by you to date, and your plan of next steps.

Online Adviser Support

One-to-one support is available over the telephone, or on a face-to-face basis following formal enrolment to the programme.

Online Workshop Programme

Through a series of free online sessions we will take you through your business planning, step-by-step to give you the knowledge and tools to ensure your proposal succeeds. Covering the Business Basics, through to Sales and Marketing, the interactive workshops will equip you with top tips on how to build a successful business.
