Description
Part of the Framework for Growth Roundtables: Real business insight. Real influence.
This session will be hosted by Freeths LLP and the East Midlands Chamber, where we will explore how finding and developing the right workforce remains one of the biggest challenges facing businesses today. This roundtable brings together employers from across the East Midlands to discuss and to share views directly on policies that affect day-to-day business operations.
Whether you employ five people or five hundred, this session is designed to give businesses a voice in shaping future skills, training and workforce policy.
Overview
What will we be talking about?
The roundtable will focus on the issues that matter most to employers, including:
- New employment rights and regulations and what they mean for managing your workforce
- Access to skills and training, including changes to apprenticeships and greater flexibility in how training funding can be used
- Recruitment challenges, including how the immigration system supports (or restricts) access to skilled workers
- Developing your existing workforce, with a focus on upskilling and lifelong learning
- Local skills planning, and how training providers can better meet the needs of businesses in the region
The discussion will also look at how national policy changes — such as the Employment Rights Bill, skills reforms and immigration rules — translate into real-world impacts for businesses.
