Back by popular demand, held in partnership with BRM, this is the annual Mock Employment Tribunal event.
This year’s Tribunal will focus on unfair dismissal and the importance of following a full and fair procedure in line with the ACAS Code of Practice. This is something that it can be very easy to fall foul of but also something we are seeing frequently in practice.
Arrival is from 8:30am for networking and breakfast, ready for a prompt 9:00am start.
The mock Tribunal will deal with a claim for unfair dismissal including alleged failures to follow the ACAS Code where the employee feels they were dealt with unfairly by their employer. Behaviour and performance issues in the work place will also be considered as part of the misconduct.
We will explore that even when an employer feels the employee is not performing and/ or there are misconduct issues, following a fair procedure and the Code of Practice before any decision is made is also very important. We will discuss what is right and wrong and where your businesses can take steps to protect themselves whilst still being able to deal with problem employees.
