This forum aims to support regional retrofit skills development, part of its push is to support green skills in the district and region, specifically relating to Retrofit Skills.

Bolsover District Council will be the lead partner on behalf of councils, colleges, universities, independent training providers and retrofit and associated employers from across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The Q3 Forum is hosted and held in partnership with the University of Nottingham Energy Institute.

The forum provides a platform to share a range of detail to inform stakeholders across the retrofit sector, and aims to ensure that business needs are fully represented, identifying key challenges, opportunities, new technologies, gaps and pinch points for the retrofit and energy efficiency sectors.

Overview

The agenda content is kindly led by Professor Lucelia Rodrigues, Deputy Director of the University of Nottingham Energy Institute, Head of Department of Architecture & Built Environment, and Professor of Sustainable and Resilient Cities.

Lucelia is a passionate, global leader in the resilience of communities and buildings in a changing climate and is involved in several major sustainability projects focused on energy, carbon management and comfort.

Agenda to date includes:

08:45am - Arrival, registration and breakfast

09:15am - Welcome, update and roundroom introductions, the Chair

09:20am - Empowering Regions for Better Homes – Nick Murphy, working with Lucelia Rodrigues (UoN), Rachel Macrorie (NTU), Adrian Prestidge, East Midlands Combined County Authority(EMCCA)

09:40am - Retrofit Business Case – TBC

10:00am - Retrofitting for Climate Change – short talks by PhD researchers:
- Climate Resilience – Ben Cherian
- Non-traditional retrofit – Praveena Pochampalli
- Retrofit Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) evaluating the environmental impact of upgrading an existing building (tbc)

10:30am - Carbon vs Cost – Lucelia Rodrigues, Renata Tubelo, Tom Hanford (Develeco)

10:50am - Any other business, future topics

11:00am - Close
