An overview of VAT for international traders. For businesses who provide goods or services to overseas customers or receive goods or services from overseas suppliers. This awareness will provide you with a basic overview of what needs to be considered from a VAT perspective.

Overview

The legal framework for VAT in international trade
• Including IOR/EOR, contract, incoterms and proof of export

Overview on VAT for Exports:
• Sale of goods B2B and B2C outside the UK
• Sale of services B2B and B2C outside the UK
• Sales via online marketplaces (OMPs)
• Indirect export sales
• Proof of Export

Overview of VAT and Imports:
• Customs valuations and VAT vs duty calculations
• Importing goods into the UK
• Importing services into the UK
• Upcoming changes - Low value imports into the UK
• Reclaiming VAT C79/PVA/alternative evidence)
• Getting it wrong

Eligibility

This workshop is open to established enterprises located in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Receipt of this support is subject to the Subsidy Control Act (2022). To qualify an enterprise cannot have received more than £315,000 Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) and or De Minimis within any three-year period.

The project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
